Postcards
Up to two minutes (uninterrupted) per person where they can answer two questions:
- What I did last week (since the last meeting),
- What I plan to do in the next week.
No questions until we get through everyone :)
Irina
- Worked on administration commands for Chimera Cleaner. Tried to find out why 'ls dcap' does not properly work.
- Continue working on tickets.
Paul
Tigran
Most interesting 1.9.6; managed to build latest kernel 2.6.32 with NFS 4.1 client for SL-5. Admins at DESY will test this. Problem with dot-commands that cause kernel panic. Looked at ROOT. They do nasty check to see if mod_root is enabled. If so, they do their own protocol (HTTP request, raw data returns).
Patrick
Installed dCache on Mac Air. Fighting battles to ensure dCache is funded.
Tanya
Improving CSS and WebDAV, now looking at Jetty and Spring.
Dmitry
Interesting discussion with wild-cards. Working on comments for LS patch. Check the various cancellation points in space manager to check whether the record is removed and failed to find any problem.
Vijay
Last week pnfs-check that checks if PNFS is running or not. Timur asked for another script that calls this script that ... Also worked on the encp package. In not too distance future encp will support Luster. All the changes in encp code haven't been checked in yet and clashed with other changes by other developers. Future work is fixing remaining points to allow the work to be checked in.
Gerd
Performance measurements with jglobus. They read a lot of data from /dev/urandom. This is broken behaviour. This will likely need to be fixed. Tried to write gsi-connector for Jetty. Will try to get this working next.
Problem not completely fixed: still seeing problems. Problem is we don't get a stack-trace with tomcat5 as the problem occurs outside the SRM, but within the class-loader.
Status of work for 1.9.5
A (quick?) review of activity needed for the 1.9.5 release
Plenty of sites planning to upgrade either just before or after Christmas. Is it worth getting 1.9.5-11 fixed. OK, we'll release.
Status of work for 1.9.6
A (quick?) review of activity needed for the 1.9.6 release
Mattias plans to upgrade tomorrow. Likely get reports from him.
Might upgrade resilient dCache instance here at DESY next week.
Timur wants to include kerberos FTP patch in 1.9.6. This was OK.
Status of work for 1.9.7
A (quick?) review of activity on trunk
What do we expect to come with 1.9.7?
- Basic authentication
- Experiment with PUT directly to pools, using HTTP code 100.
Week 10: Monday 8th of March for the next release.
