- What I did last week (since the last meeting),
- What I plan to do in the next week.
No questions until we get through everyone :)
Gerd: Looked at auth. for webdav, NDGF support, minor bug-fixes.
Christian: still ticket reporting for EMI.
Jan: Webadmin and being ill.
Antje: documenting the madness
Tanja: tickets and patches
Karsten: Reviews starting with IPv6

Plans for patch-releases
Should we make a new patch release?
Problem with NFSv4 on 1.9.12. Should be fixed by now?
Trunk activity
Progress with new features...
SSH2 patch
GUI integration or not? Tigran says lets just bring that in for now and add support for GUI later.
Would fixing GUI support later be OK? Yes.
Can you run the two concurrently, on different ports? Maybe, need to check and might need some configuration.
Patch hasn't been updated yet with Gerd's comments? Nope, not yet. Should do on Friday.
The GUI stuff should be trivial to support .. but the GUI would need to be updated too, to use SSH v2, too.
Patrick said that, while we don't have the functionality in the web-admin then we support the GUI.
Issues from yesterday's Tier-1 meeting
Delayed flush-to-tape
Changing disk-stored file so it is flushed to tape.
This isn't something that Gerard wants to support at the VO-level. We would need to provide the VO users with some interface that they can used to tell dCache.
Possible interfaces:
- SRM,
- WebDAV,
- namespace (moving a file),
- dcap.
The only thing in SRM that has anything to do with this kind of thinig is changeSpaceForFile. In the end, this is very much coupled to space-management. There's no way to do this without using spaces and CMS doesn't use spaces.
WebDAV
You could use the properties port (AL and RP) and allow clients to change the values.
Only experimental, unusual clients support changing the property value.
You could make some HTTP RESTful service for making the change.
dcap
Just extend the protocol.
filesystem
Support moving files from one tag-hierarchy to another.
Probably add support for moving a file would be the most natural for the end-users, if they have the similar layout to
Sooner or later they will have files on non-HSM attached pools and have to move the pool.
2 years, can have something.
6 months, can have something [as a limited solution].
Gerd has an idea how we could do this, but had to leave before we could discuss this. This might take a month or so.
Move this discussion onto the mailing list.
Coping with broken pools
The issue is that sites would like to unregister a pool even when it is offline. We currently don't support this.
Adding support would require changes to the pin-manager and pnfs-manager.
Topic was skipped due to lack of time / participants.
Documenting pool-manager
Skipped.
Issues from EMI
None.
Outstanding RT Tickets
[This is an auto-generated item. Don't add items here directly]
RT 6327: setting a pool readonly in PoolManager doesn't survive a restart
Skipped due to lack of time / participants.
RT 6343: p2p copy/move
Skipped due to lack of time / participants.
Review of RB requests
DTNM
Same time, next week.
Perhaps schedule a meeting to discuss CMS / delayed flush-to-tape. Paul to send an email about this.
