Postcards

• Gerd : Spent time on the pool selection on the migration module. Pool selection was not as people expected. Usual problem : all files go to one pool. Problem understood. Gerd implmeneted what M.W. suggested. Is in review. Another ticket from DESY Dima on a similiar problem in the pool manager. Gerd suggests to apply similiar fix here. Gerd works on it. Rest was vacation and tickets.
• Dimitry: Implemented removal of a file is overwrite is specified for SRM put and copy. Doesn't rely any more on FTP overwrite. ... Couple of tickets on mget. Mget relies on mlist to get a list of file with patterns. We reject mlist on a file. Two commands affected (mlist and mget). Dimitry implemented mlist on directories and fails on files. Next : REX deparment : intense frontier experiment. Fermilab future. Interviewed Dimitry on NFS4.1/pNFS. More UID/GID mapping when running NFSv4. Tigran has to give advise on how to do the NFS v4 ID mapping.
• Tanja : fighting with GGUS tickets. Connection between RT and GGUS was broken. DESY and KIT people working on it. More tickets and patch for http and helping DESY dima to setup NFS 4.1 here at DESY.
• Dr. Petersen : back from vacation and working on documentation.
• Karsten : fun with testbed. IP matcher. Power down. big problems with the gLite dCache testbed. Fixed now.

Plans for patch-releases

1.9.5 : patches pending : mget fix by Dimitry. Migration fix. Should be released on a reaonsable timeframe. 1.9.12-8 was released yesterday. 1.9.13-2 is waiting to be released. Tigran should do that..

FHS will be provided as soon as possible on our web page together with debian packages.

Trunk activity

• Migration module change.
• Web admin by Jan.
• Trivial patch by Gerd to default on SRM 2 instead o SRM 1. Dmitry agrees.

Issues from yesterday's Tier-1 meeting

• FERMI is preparing the 1.9.12 migration for public-dcache in fall/winter. Seen as a preparation Jon upgrade.

Issues from EMI

• Patrick is creating EMI-Data wiki pages
• Preparing for EGI roll-out of dCache.

Gerd worked on the PinManager but not much more has been done.

 RT 6493: Data lost when migration from pnfs to chimera

We need to have again the 'removed files' table in the file system db = chimera. Need tigran for this.

On Gerds ticket 6506. Tanja will create a feature ticket to follow up on this. Maybe this will be fixed with globus 2. But we can't use those.
