Postcards

• Al : reviewed Pauls suggestions and posted a new patch and waiting for the ok for the billing project. Encountered some problems with gPlazma for the integration of GUMS. Please Paul, check the patch.
• Dmitri: Progress on the copy request and data nucleus. Will become nice now. (Reminder: replacing had written SQL by DataNucleus?). This might become a replacement for teracotte and may reduce the memory footprint. SRM client bug found. Patch already exists. Looking into some tickets. Problem with UK cert authority. This might because the client is relying on a jcog version. Dmitry is in contact with the client.
• Jan: Presentation of the new Web Admin to DOT. BUG fix in the property file of dCache. TRIM was missing. Confused if 'blank' was found. Fixed Hudson. Builds after EMMA was swtiched off. And some webadmin work.
• Christian: Very unsuccessful week. And fixed dev env.
• Antje: Documention : SRM chapter, Space Reservation. Ask Dimitry for help.
• Patrick: Solved EMI dev tracker tickets with Christian.
• Karsten: Back to IPV6. Tested IPv6 patches.
• Tanja: Tickets.
• Tigran: Ported Gerds work on ssh1 to ssh2 interface. Fixed some bugs of NFS found with the multi tier concept. Convincing nfs client dev to change nfs client to work better with dCache. LINUX server had to be fixed as well.

Plans for patch-releases

1.9.12-14: Lot of fixes and lots of customers (e.g. DESY Zeuthen) are waiting. e.g. SRM third party bug fixed from DMITRY

Trunk activity

Please see postcards. Will freeze the dCache 2.2 as the next EMI 2 release.

Issues from yesterday's Tier-1 meeting

Simon, Gerd and Doris. : Doris upgraded to 1.9.12-13.

Issues from EMI

Release 1.9.12-13 to EMI (in the process) and we need to become more EPEL compliance. We are investigation if dcap needs to be still in EMI as it is already in EPEL. (Christina might know)

Al : question on gPlazma

Question: relation ship between gPlama 1 and 2. Al found callouts from gPlazma 2 to gPlazma 1. Better would be to move functionality from 1 to 2. But to keep a running system we might not do that. But we can copy classes from 1 to 2 and use the 2 version and at some point we just remove the gPlazma 1 classes.

UK certificat problem

Dmitry sent jar to customer. But unfortunately due to a mail policy of DESY we didn't send it to the customer (binary). Dmitry will contact customer again.

Unit tests disappeared

It ssems 11 tests are skipped. Needs to be investigated. Jan will follow up on that.

SRM client to /USR

Dmitry: Dmitry would need some documentation about HFS. Seems to be trivial. Might interfer with the . property file in the users home directory. Very likely not using the binary location information.

Outstanding RT Tickets

Dmitry please check support e-mails from Tanja. There are GGUS and NGI tickets pending.

Scripts for space management

Dmitry will create a page on that and attach scripts appropriately
