[part of a series of meetings]

Participants

Tigran, Patrick, Christian, Paul; Dmitry, Al; Gerd

Agenda

[see box on the right-hand side]

Postcards

Up to two minutes (uninterrupted) per person where they can answer two questions:

  • What I did last week (since the last meeting),
  • What I plan to do in the next week.

No questions until we get through everyone :)

Al: hard at work piecing apart replica manager -- currently trying to understand the code. Probably rewrite from scratch.

Dmitry: replica-manager; messaging sequence diagram for replica-manager (will send to team), along with plans of what to do. Talking with US-CMS Tier-1 2.2.24 based system -- migration going well so far; public dCache upgraded to v2.2.24 (due users can delete files not owned by them in v2.2.18) -- people now using NFSv4.1 heavily and they're very happy with it. PIC not happy that enstore not working with 2.6, but this will be fixed.

Patrick: chasing DESY people to complete investigation into OwnCloud? and small things that are related.

Tigran: mostly working on NFS. One customer who has a very wierd setup, which is causing problems. These are being fixed.

Christian: busy with Taipei work -- hands-on workshop. Also some prep work for the European workshop.

Gerd: away for 1.5 days but mostly working on the write TURL stuff. Uploads and server-side transfers are working.

Paul: 1.5 days away for funding related work.

Plans for patch-releases

Should we make a new patch release?

ATLAS 2 times: April 9th ATLAS 23rd CMS (-->2.8, if we support it) November

Backport policy

Gerd's proposal was accepted -- but as guidelines not hard rules.

A ticket should be opened for each patch to be backported.

NFS v2.6

Tigran still fixing things in master, so no activity to 2.6 currently.

Tigran wants to either leave NFS 2.6 as-is (but fix enstore-specific problems) or to backport all of master NFS to 2.6.

IPv6

Patrick (FTP thing)

SRM client fixes for IPv6 addresses patch by Tigran.

dcap will need more work.

Gerd will write Proposal for addendum to GridFTP spec.

dCache workshop

Patrick

Mail sent to team with link to document; proposal for alternative agenda. Wednesday afternoon hands-on session -- keep develops workshop twice: once Wednesday and once Friday. Thursday is for talks.

Fish-bowl on Admin support question.
