Site reports

Things are generally working fine. NDGF has scheduled an upgrade to 2.9.0 for Thursday. Everything is running smoothly.

Paul mentioned that 2.9.1 is to be released today -- just part of the regular Tuesday release cycle, nothing urgent.

Ulf mentioned a bug where check-config makes the wrong recommendation for how to fix a space-manager configuration property.

Marc reported that everything is working fine at PIC.

They noticed high load on their system, with pools suffering from ~100 concurrent client connections. These are reprocessing jobs that, through ROOT, are accessing data through the dcap protocol. They are thinking about creating dedicated read pools to separate the read and write activity, but this would be a long-term strategy.

Xavier reported that KIT have suffered from some GPFS issues due to some broken hardware and GPFS; however, this is unrelated to dCache.

The main problem is they have received complaints from CMS that Brazilian users cannot access dCache. The dCache server logs that there is no signing policy file for this Brazilian CA. Although this seems like a JGlobus problem, it seems to affect only KIT and this Brazilian CA. Xavier will open a ticket about this.

Xavier also mentioned the statistics bug. Paul described how a null-pointer-exception in statistics is fixed with today's round of bug-fix releases. The problem of how to make the statistics collection scale was discussed during the developers meeting, but without any concrete solution, yet.
