[part of a series of meetings]

Participants

Christian, Karsten, Tigran, Al, Gerd

Agenda

[see box on the right-hand side]

Postcards

Up to two minutes (uninterrupted) per person where they can answer two questions:

  • What I did last week (since the last meeting),
  • What I plan to do in the next week.

No questions until we get through everyone :)

Karsten: LDAP plugin documentation, Tickets, smaller reviews Tigran: Helped Leonie with her work. We can now use ownCloud sync clients natively with dCache

Investigated SSD pool issues. Helped DESY admins with dCache components running out of memory Did performance tests with Gerd's serialization update.

Al: Reviewing Developers Meeting discussion on ReplicaManager Christian: Updated WebPage?, Resolving Tickets,

EMI/EGI things: EMI-3 will continue to be supported and will notify people 6 Month in advance if support will be dropped in the future.

Dimitry: Migrated to 2.2 and chimera in the CMS Tier-1 Tape Backend System Gerd: Serialization of messages, speedup factor of 10, but no effect on dCache performance. Being in contact with Java devloper

Fixed XRootD compatibiliy with client, this could be due to IPv6/IPv4 conversion issues. This should be backported.

Plans for patch-releases

Should we make a new patch release?

Expected next week: Xrootd backport, Al's backport

Trunk activity

Progress with new features...

Al:

Issues from [FIXME: Add link to yesterday's Tier-1 meeting]

Ulf, Xavier, Mark.

Mark upgraded to 2.6 from 2.2 KIT has a long downtime and a couple of issues

  • problem with security limits, RPM should come with
  • HotFile? replication: dCache would prefer to do replication even though the file already exists on an unloaded pool. Not really sure about this. Apparently PoolManager only saw one copy.
    • Tigran: Maybe we see a similar behavior at DESY...

Issues from EMI

New or noteworthy

Outstanding RT Tickets

[This is an auto-generated item. Don't add items here directly]

8335: Cirular symlink? What could this mean?

Should be fine with dCache. But it could of course lead to problems with tools not detecting this.

Review of RB requests

Al has two rather small patches concering Alarms, fixing bugs and providing documentation.

Documentation

Please have a look at: http://trac.dcache.org/wiki/MissingDocumentation

Could we add a back reference in the book patch to the patch that requires documentation.

DTNM

Proposed: same time, next week.
