Postcards

Al: Patches for Alarms server, problem with pull request for 2.12 already solved. Tested Gerds patches

Anupam: Continued OpenID work, connecting authenticators to gPlazma.

Christian: Conference registration page is set up. Increasing activity in EMI / Human Brain Project.

Dmitry: Commited patch for nonblocking pinning operation, work with Al on resilient manager, optimizations in Puppet config at a deployment site

Gerd: research about xrootd "dstat" specification, feature is implemented and is now in review. Further work on Chimera, fixing Postgres issues. Continued work on pool startup. Update: Problems at Finnish Tier-2 were due to broken new Netty version. NDGF sees same problems, although more rarely.

Olufemi: Still on web interface, currently working on downloading functionality. Further UI refinements.

Paul: Fixed: WebDAV delete function returned wrong error code when a file was not found. VOMS was not working for a certain test VO, problem tracked down to VOMS actually still using MD5 hashes. Work on reference implementation of CDMI, sending pull requests upstream. The sync client is progressing, though large file upload is still blocked by missing chunked upload support. Investigating Macaroons for authentication for the web interface. Recent meeting with CSC: Moving from iRODS to dCache/Owncloud?

Tigran: WLCG workshop in Lisboa, some patches and code review

Jürgen: First release, Infrastructure work for Jenkins, QOS

Special topics

Enstore Workshop

E-mail by Sasha:

  • I plan to have an Enstore presentation (1-1.5 hour) and have enstore installation and configuration demonstration (2 hours).

--> Total time of 3 hours planned

  • For demonstration I need at least one host with SL6 (better 2 hosts). One host must be connected with tape drive in robot.

--> Marc answered that PIC will help in any possible way

  • There also must be connection to robot either via local or private network.

--> how shall there be a connection to the robot via the university network in the conference center?

Zipped downloads

Christian: Should we implement a facility for zipped directory downloads through WebDAV? Gerd: Inside or outside of Milton? Also: Don't zip files up and send the archive, do it streaming. Additionally: Do we need a max download size? Paul started experimenting with such a feature. Staging and time constraints during streaming are problematic. We discuss implementation approaches and alternatives.

Video conferencing

Hangouts or Acano? Several people seem to have trouble connecting to Hangouts. Firefox on Linux related?

Tigran: Also, we should try to stay in the scientific community and use DESY-provided tools if possible.

We'll connect 10 mins early next week and try Acano.
