[part of a series of meetings]

Participants

Al, Dmitry, Gerd, Paul, Tigran, Sibil, Anupam, Ashish

Postcards

About one minute (uninterrupted) per person where they can answer two questions:

  • What I did last week (since the last meeting),
  • What I plan to do in the next week.

No questions until we get through everyone :)

Sibil

Gerd

Back from vacation on Wednesday; last few days 100% time, deploying HA proxy, ucarp up and running, deploying more services (redundant everything). Also redundant srm-mamanger, although not currently used

Previously flapping tunnel, but now seems to be stable.

Every 90 second, a dead period. Now improved to every 120s, but cause is unknown. This is likely cause of Ulf's report.

Tigran

Update tests to run postgres 9.6 with redundant everything -- observed performance drop. Due to the door selecting "remote" pool-manager.

Anupam

Continued working on patches on review board -- trying to setup zookeeper with TLS.

Asif

Looking at difference options for CMS. Jeckel, WebHook?, github -- Also template; Looking at add-ons.

Gerd mentioned this is how NEIC doing this: Jeckel + github and web-hooks.

Al

Finish up work on work -- small patches

Outstanding issues -- alarms.

Dmitry

CHEP poster -- analysed data from Al. Chimera database and enstore.

Stage protection through NFSv4.1. Can also specify a link for NFS and set the cache preference to zero.

Paul

Review, Support, CHEP, ATLAS, srmclient-srmfs.

Special topics

Merging web development

Al.

Was this discussed at the developers conference?

No, wasn't really discussed. The basic idea is to get the infrastructure in a good state, and move on from there.

Review Board is good example -- admin tab to expose additional functionality.

Servlet - wicket => moving into new framework.

Why can't SRM, WebDAV, .. run inside of httpd service?

Proposal: Femi adds an 'admin' tab but only for users who are admins, Al looks at populating this tab.

Femi -- possible tutorial.

Releasing

Create the branch 3.0 after the meeting

Add TLS for tunnels for cell communication.

Add serialisation -- we can delay this until 3.1.

ZooKeeper?

SASL disabled; can we use the netty version?

Embedded zookeeper should only be used for testing.

Also see how much has changed in 3.5.

Release news

Keeping with the weekly release cycle.

Trunk activity

Progress with new features...

New version of Berkeley DB out, but not backward compatible. Should we upgrade in 3.0?

Issues from [FIXME: Add link to yesterday's Tier-1 meeting]

Looks like v4.4 of SLAC xrootd. There looks like there are a bunch of security-related in trunk (including HTTP support).

Updated version of the xrootd spec?

Paul to ping David Cameron

Need to know:

  1. xrootd or http
  2. is this real/fixed TLS.

Outstanding RT Tickets

[This is an auto-generated item. Don't add items here directly]

Review of RB requests

New, noteworthy and other business

Gerd is still 50% this month, so will try to attend as many meetings as possible.

DTNM

Same time next week, again on meet.desy.de.
