Site reports

Things have been going well for the last month.

Tomorrow upgrade first instance to dCache v2.16

pcells and SOCS

User-forum question -- if someone tried pcells through SOCKS.

Clarified that this is a feature-request -- it hasn't worked (or been tested) for Xavier in the past.

pcells and connection closed

Fixed the problem with pcells where an open connection was closed after a while. This fix was for dCache v3.1

The sshd library changed how they handle timeouts, so the patch does not affect earlier versions of dCache.

No problems during the past week -- no problems.

Problems with CMS -- trying to improve the performance. The actions were:

create pool-group for recalls/staging.

isolate metadata from storage disks (onto system disks)

SAM tests adjusted -- now using dedicated pools (on same hardware)

On 19th September PIC will upgrade to dCache 3.1.

Marc is moving to PSI on 2nd November; Elena is taking over.

what is good with pcells

Look and feel of pcell is better.

At least for the pool view.

The lookup view is more intuitive.

In 3.1 pcells problem

Queue summary is not shown for the pools. In 2.16 the pool queues are shown.
